All products ordered from Cakes By The Lake are subject to the following terms and conditions. We ask that you read these terms and conditions and acknowledge that by making payment in the form of a deposit or full payment, that you agree to these conditions.
Design:
Cakes By The Lake will make all efforts to ensure the agreed design is followed in all aspects. Where a change is required to be made to the design or structure for artistic or decorative purposes, we will attempt to contact the client to advise of this. However as the designer, we reserve the right to make these changes if necessary and this will not affect the quoted price agreed upon with the client.
Allergies & Dietary Requirements:
All products made by Cakes By The Lake are done so in a kitchen that is potentially exposed to products that contain gluten, soy, nuts, eggs and milk products. We do provide allergen-free options, however we cannot provide a guarantee that these products will not contain trace amounts of the above products due to the nature of the production environment. It is the responsibility of the client to request a product that does not contain these above-mentioned products. It is also the responsibility of the client to ensure that any persons consuming these products are aware of any allergens present in the product.
Quotations & Pricing:
Cakes By The Lake will provide an obligation free quote and will happily correspond with the client to ensure the needs of the client are met and any questions answered. All quotations will be valid for fourteen (14) days, after such time these quotations will be deleted if not fulfilled. We reserve the right to provide a new quotation after this date and alter the price as deemed appropriate.
The total price of the order will be clearly stated in the correspondence with the client. All prices shown will be based on the industry standard 1x2" dessert serving size (unless otherwise requested by the client). It is the responsibility of the client to confirm these portion sizes with any venue where the cake may be cut on behalf of the client.
Deposits & Payments:
Deposits are non-refundable. Cakes By The Lake requires a minimum deposit of $50.00 to be made within 7 days of the date of ordering to secure the order. If payment has not been made we reserve the right to cancel the order and book other orders for that date. We will advise the client if a date is available at the time of the enquiry, however we cannot hold dates until a deposit has been paid.
We request a minimum of three (3) weeks notice with custom orders, however the sooner you can get in touch the better as we are taking orders in some cases up to 12 months in advance.
The balance of any order is to be paid in full a minimum of one (1) week prior to delivery/pick-up. We accept instalments and request that the final payment be made a minimum of one (1) week prior to delivery/pick-up. Any cancellation within one (1) week of the requested delivery date may result in the loss of any or all monies paid by the client.
Any matter of cancellation or rescheduling will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and where any products or materials have been purchased for the clients order, these monies will not be refunded.
Collection & Delivery:
Upon collection we will advise the client of suggested care options for the product. We recommend that two persons collect the product so that one person can hold or observe the item during transit. Cakes By The Lake will not be held responsible for damages incurred once the product has left our studio. If the product is such that we believe that pick-up by the client is not a safe option, we will insist on delivering and setting up the product at the venue.
We offer delivery on all products, and will advise of any delivery fees at the time of ordering. It is the responsibility of the client to ensure that the client or venue staff are present at the agreed time of delivery. Where the product is being setup at a venue, we will advise the function staff as to any storage or room requirements and will not be held responsible for damage that occurs to the product after setup.
Non-Edible Materials:
The client will be advised of any non-edible materials that are on, or inside the product at the time of collection/delivery. It is the responsibility of the client to ensure that these items are removed where practicable prior to the cake being served.
